After an initial in-depth interview at Selective Search’s Chicago HQ, he was introduced to two ladies chosen for him by the company whom he spoke with by phone and met face to face.
He sought help from Selective Search to find a high energy lady with a sense of humor and tenacious attitude to life.
“The first lady they set me up with, we’ve been married now for three years,” Randolph said. Before she began hunting down lovers and mates for her high end clients, Barbie Adler was an executive headhunter with Chicago-based search firm Encore, and counted some of the country’s biggest companies as clients.
It’s easy for some to scoff at the idea of shelling out $25,000 to have a stranger help you find a romantic partner, but some of Adler’s clients insist they would have paid more for the results enjoyed.
“If I can find somebody who’s made this much of a difference in my life, who cares how much it costs?
“I just thought what a great guy,” Adler remembers.
“We’re going to find him someone wonderful.” Despite Marcovici’s advances, Adler refused to break her cardinal rule not to date clients, which moved her suitor to take the courtship a step further.
Unless, of course, you can afford to pay Barbie Adler and her team of matchmakers to help you.
Adler, founder and president of Chicago-based matchmaking firm Selective Search, has been helping find love for the wealthy (and busy) nationwide for about 13 years.
“There are times in life when the conversation flows seamlessly back and forth and it could just go on and on and on—this was one of those cases where the conversation felt perfect at all levels,” remembers Philip.
