OK, For my sins I also own A Rover 75, all singing all dancing version..
Now on that I have upgraded the factory fit 2D nav to 3D & postcode search by the simple means of changing the old CD drive to a newer DVD based drive from a later BMW.
Not only the road network changes, but also the database of available places of interest (POI).
Installation for this disc is just a simple case of removing your old disc and inserting the new one,with your car running your firmware will update and takes just a few minutes, once complete you will see your map screen load with your new maps do not turn it off until this is completed and then you will have the most upto date map and poi data base.

Many models in Garmin’s latest sat nav range come with a lifetime of map and traffic updates.
This is indicated by the ‘LMT’ at the end of the name, like the Nüvi 2455LMT.

when i loaded the map software it informed me that the software version was older than the one already installed.hi, anyone know of anywhere - other than renault dealers @£200 - where i can obtain an updated disc for my '05 Ph2 Laguna?not too keen on illegal downloads - but anyone know of a cutprice specialist / have a disc for sale?All the plugs are the same and I obviously now also have access to 3D, postcode search & newer map updates..Simple question, can I do the same to the Carminat system??Alternativly, if you know the location of the fuse for the system you could pull that...
